Tigers Tale, A - The Tiger Moth Story

Designed as an aircraft for the man in the street to buy and fly, Geoffrey de Havilland?s extraordinary assemblage of wood, wire and tube is arguably the most loved and legendary aeroplane of the twentieth century. First built almost 70 years ago (and flown by Amy Johnson on her epic flight to Australia) more than 400 of these magnificent planes are still flying the world today. Originally produced as a development of the well-known Gipsy Moth, the Tiger Moth went on to become one of the world's most famous training aircraft. During the Second World War it provided the majority of RAF pilots with their elementary flying training. It has since been used for every kind of aerial work. including air taxis, ambulances, crop sprayers and radio controlled bombers but the Tiger is probably best known as the epitome of the bi-plane, a crowd pleaser at aerobatic displays.

Dunkirk

Documentary-style film which tells two sides of the Dunkirk story. A British corporal (John Mills) finds himself responsible for getting his men back to Britain from the Dunkirk beaches, after their officer is killed and they are separated from the main allied forces. Meanwhile, a civilian reporter (Bernard Lee) follows the build-up to the eventual evacuation of British and French troops from the beaches of Dunkirk.
