Three films. The Outlaw - Zatoichi finds himself embroiled in a struggle between two gangland bosses when he arrives in the village of Kiyotaki. The peasants are starving to death but Tamizo, one of the bosses, forces them to continue to gamble their way out of destitution. Asagoro assumes the position as leader of the peasants and takes it upon himself to pay off their debts. Zatoichi decides to lend his skills to advance their cause. At The Fire Festival - Zatoichi is on his travels again arriving in the village where the Boss of All Bosses, Yamikubo, holds sway, a man known as the Prince Of Darkness. A place where women can be bought at auction. It is a town where fate introduces Zatoichi to another blind man, who proceeds to unravel the ways of destiny for him and illuminate the duties of the blind. In Desperation - On his neverending journey, Zatoichi crosses paths with an old woman on an ancient bridge accidentally causing her death. He charges himself with finding the old woman's daughter to give her the tragic news.
