This is the third of three one-hour programmes charting the valuable contribution made by the RAF to the Allied war effort. With bombing raids carried out every night and the continuous threat from the mighty German Luftwaffe, the RAF were at the forefront of the Allied campaign. This programme takes a look at the lives of the brave pilots and aircrew who emerged victorious against the superior number of the German Luftwaffe. Homage is also paid to the valuable service provided by the personnel and ground crews.
