Film following the activities on the Scotland to Northern Ireland railway, between the years 1966 and 1970. The focus in this film is on the steam operated, specially constructed side-discharge hopper wagons and the 2-6-4 tank locomotives, which powered them. These 'Jeeps' were used intensively in the building of the M2 motorway. Their route during the M2 project, beginning in Magheramorne, near Larne is shown in some detail.
