Director Martin Scorcese recreates one of Paul Newman's most memorable roles from The Hustler. Pool player Fast Eddie Felson finds the young, promising pool player Vincent in a bar and he sees in him a younger version of himself. To try and make it as in the old days, Eddie offers to teach Vincent how to be a hustler. After some hesitations Vincent accepts and Eddie takes him and Vincent's girlfriend Carmen on a tour through the country to work the pool halls. But Vincent doesn't quite play the game...

A taut whodunnit, with Bogart turning in a typically charismatic performance as a tough, streetwise ex-paratrooper who, on returning from war, becomes enmeshed in ganglands, murder and a romance with sultry nightclub singer, Scott.

Punchline

Sally Field and Tom Hanks star in this sad and funny film about the sub-culture of comedy clubs, in which more people get laughed at than get laughs. A compassionate and engrossing film.

Harriet The Spy

Eleven year old Harriet M. Welsch dreams of becoming a writer and her nanny and best friend, Golly, tells her that the best way to achieve this is to write down everything she sees. Harriet has a great time until her secret spy notebook is discovered by her friends. They don't like what Harriet has written and they decide they don't like Harriet very much either. Can she win back her friends or will she remain a rejected writer forever?
