Gambler and con artist Charlie (Walter Matthau) is desperate to meet single, rich ladies with large bank accounts. When he persuades his lonely widower brother-in-law, Herb (Jack Lemmon), into accompanying him on a pleasure cruise, he neglects to mention that they will be working as dance hosts and masquerading as wealthy bachelors. Much to Herb's chagrin, their accommodations are in the bowels of the high-class ship, and they are forced to work for the hilariously tyrannical cruise director Gil Godwyn (Brent Spiner).

The odds seem stacked against Rudy as he uncovers a trail of corruption and the only way he can win his case is if someone is prepared to tell the truth. Changing Lanes - Hotshot lawyer Gavin Banek and recovering alcoholic salesman Doyle Gipson are both driving to potentially life-changing appointments when they collide in the New York rush hour. In his haste, Banek drives off, leaving Gipson stranded and unable to attend a vital court hearing for custody of his children. But Banek also leaves behind a legal document on which hinges either millions of dollars for his firm, or a jail sentence for him. With Gipson holding Banek's future in his hands, and Banek using all his high-flying contacts to take Gipson down, the day becomes an ever-spiraling game of one-upmanship between the two men, which will challenge all that they believe about themselves and their principles.
