Carols For Christmas

Seasonal programme filmed in 1985 and features twenty-four popular carols in special arrangements by Sir David Willcocks, former director of the Royal College of Music, taken from the songbook 'Carols For Christmas', which he compiled for The Metropolitan Museum Of Art, New York. The carols are performed by the Royal College of Music Chamber Choir, with the Farnaby Brass Ensemble, conducted by Sir David. The soloists are Aled Jones and Canadian baritone Gerald Finley. Filmed in St Edmundsbury Cathedral, Bury St Edmunds and is accompained by paintings, prints and illustrations from the Metropolitan Museum Of Art, which enhance the Christmas atmosphere.
