Roy Ayers - In Concert

Ranked as one of the most visible and winning jazz vibraphonists of the 1960's, then an R&B bandleader in the 1970's and 80's, Roy Ayers's reputation is now that of one of the prophets of acid jazz, a man decades ahead of his time. A tune like 1972's Move To Groove has a crackling backbeat that serves as the prototype for the shuffling hip-hop groove that became ubiquitous on acid jazz records, and his relaxed 1976 song Everybody Loves The Sunshine has been frequently sampled. Roy Ayers has built up a particularly faithful fan base in England. Since 1988, he has been one of the regulars at the famed Ronnie Scott's jazz club in London. Even today the doormen have to turn fans away from the packed club when he plays.

Julian Fellowes Investigates - A Most Mysterious Murder

Oscar (R) winner Julian Fellowes stars in and co-wrote these five brand new factual-based films. The first of the stories investigated is The Case of Charles Bravo - a young, newly married barrister who died a slow and agonising death by poisoning in 1876. Other stories are: The Case of Rose Harsent, the story of a pretty servant girl who was found stabbed to death, The Case of George Harry Storrs, a wealthy industrialist who met his untimely violent death at home, The Case of The Croydon Poisonings where three members of the same family died from poisoning and The Case of the Earl of Erroll who was killed with a bullet through his head outside Nairobi. Each of the stories is unique in terms of its characters, motive and historical period. At the time they were front page news and a common theme runs throughout - none of these murders was ever solved.
