Three Businessmen/ Highway Patrolman

Two films. Three Businessmen - American art dealer Bennie (Miguel Sandoval) and British art dealer Frank King (Alex Cox) meet by chance in the abandoned restaurant of a Liverpool hotel and set off into the rainy night in search of dinner. Taking place over a single evening but in a variety of international locations, the film is a surreal and subversive comic fantasy that pays homage to the director's beloved Luis Bunuel's 'The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie (1972)'. Sharply scripted to take in subjects as diverse as the theme music on answer phones and The Beatles, this work displays Cox's liberating disregard for convention. Highway Patrolman - Graduating as a top police student from the National Highway Patrol Police Academy, Pedro Rojas (veteran Mexican actor Robert Sosa) and his college friend are sent to patrol a desolate highway. They begin by strictly enforcing the law during their arduous 24-hr shifts, but soon their dedication dwindles and Pedro succumbs to accepting bribes and drug smuggling with tragic consequences.
