The story of 'Pellet' a 12 year old boy, named for the ball bearing he always carries with him. Pellet lives with his domineering father, his subdued mother and incontinent grandmother. His only pleasure is to play chicken on the railway tracks with friends. Then a new boy from a very different background arrives at school and reveals a wondrous new world to Pellet, giving him a glimpse of a family life without fear.

Spencer then helps him to make a puddle walk a memorable event for the nursery children. Seaside Inside - The cafe is very busy as everyone shelters from the rain. Penny and Miss Hoolie wonder what can be done to keep the children entertained, so Spencer has an idea to bring the seaside inside.
