On a quiet morning on the outskirts of the small town of Prosperity, Arizona, a rabbit runs across the road causing a truck, carrying barrels of toxic waste, to swerve. One of the barrels falls into the local river. When crickets from the river are fed to spiders kept in captivity, all hell breaks loose as they mutate into enormous creatures who need large prey to satisfy their never-ending appetites. Soon pet cats, dogs and even ostriches begin disappearing and, for afters, how about a few cocooned humans. Is there anyone out there that can save the day? Step forward Chris McCormack (David Arquette) and town sheriff Sam Porter (Kari Wuhrer) who gather the remaining residents of the town together in a last ditch attempt to save Prosperity - maybe the world - from becoming a giant website.
