Fresh

Fresh is a twelve year old Brooklyn kid who runs drugs for the local gangs, a trade he learned from his father, whom he is forbidden to see. His near vagrant father is a chess genius and has taught Fresh how to play chess, which in turn helps him to think on his feet. He's decided he wants out of the world of drugs and devises an ingenious trap which plays the gangs off against each other.

Kolya

When he finds himself strapped for cash he agrees to a marriage of convenience. But his new bride skips town leaving him with her five-year old Russian son Kolya. Both are equally unhappy about the situation especially as neither of them speak the same language. Gradually the barriers between the two of them start to move and a loving bond is formed.
