Arvind is a young and aspiring lawyer when he meets Asha, the daughter of an astrologer. When they announce their impending marriage Asha's father predicts Arvind's death on the eve of the big day leaving the couple to cheat this terrible fate by living together outside of wedlock. Eventually, after suffering socially, they agree to split up in an attempt to save Arvind's career. A few years into the future Arvind becomes close to his son by Asha, although he is unaware of his true identity.
