I Was There - True Stories Of The Blitz : short review
On 23rd August 1930 a German bombing raid on British oil storage tanks became disorientated by heavy cloud and inadvertently dropped its bombs on London. London's first civilian casualties provoked an immediate response from the Royal Air Force and on the 25th August Berlin became the target of British bombing raids. By September 7th the Blitz was in full swing and three hundred German bombers and six hundred fighters arrived to 'raze London to the ground'. This programme tells, in their own words, the story of the people who survived the Blitz.
