Boxset containing documentaries on four World War Two aircraft and the Battle of Britain. Includes Wellington - Detailed history of the Vickers Wellington whose operational career spanned the whole of the Second World War. Rugged and reliable, it was operated by bomber command and transport command. By the end of the war nearly 11,500 had been built and it's place in history was secured. Spitfire - Undoubtedly the most famous plane ever built as it took on the Luftwaffe bomber formations throughout the war. See how it was designed and built despite opposition from the RAF. Hurricane - The Hawker Hurricane was credited with the first 'kill' during the Second World War and went on to destroy two thirds of all German aircraft. Lancaster - The story of the Avro Lancaster which replaced the reliable Wellington in laying waste to German cities by night. Capable of carrying more than it's own weight in bomb load, including the 22,000 pound Tallboy, it was one of the most successful of all World War Two 'heavies'. Along with wartime footage this excellent documentary also includes recent colour film of 'City of Lincoln', the RAF's last airworthy Lancaster. Battle Of Britain - A compelling documentary which retells the amazing World War 2 story of how the Battle of Britain was won. Newly discovered archive footage is included in this tale of the heroism of the Famous Few.
