Tim Marlow On - Carsten Holler At Tate Modern

Art connoisseur Tim Marlow takes a behind-the-scenes look at Carsten Holler's 'Test Site' installation at the Tate Modern. Described as an 'oversized, rather menacing playground' comprising five moving stainless steel slides, 'Test Site' is a unique experience that invites visitors to become part of the exhibit. This film charts the progress of a fascinating art project from its inception through to the opening day. Also features a rare interview with Holler himself.

Calzaghe Vs. Lacy

It was arguably the finest performance from a British boxer in recent times. IBF Super-middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe's 12 round dismantling of American macho man Jeff Lacy will live long in the memory for those lucky enough to be ringside at Manchester's MEN arena and the millions watching live on TV. Neither man had ever been beaten Lacy had never even been knocked down. He lost both proud records. His WBO crown ripped away as he was handed the most comprehensive beating he will surely ever take. Calzaghe was sensational, with the bewildering hand speed that is his trademark, sending his confused and battered rival into retreat. Lacy, who arrived with the most fearsome reputation, was too busy defending himself to throw much back. The Welshman won every round. Promoter Frank Warren had billed the fight as 'Judgement Day' and after this sublime boxing master class the judgement is surely that all-conquering Calzaghe is one of Britain's best ever.

Straight To Hell/ Death And The Compass

Two films. Straight To Hell - This is Alex Cox's anarchic homage to the Spaghetti Western. A team of inept hit men oversleep on the day of their big job and find their target has already fled town. Fearing reprisals from their boss they pull a bank job and escape into the desert with Richardson's pregnant girlfriend (Courtney Love). When their car breaks down they seek shelter in a ghost town inhabited by the McMahons, a murderous and incestuous clan of gun-crazy coffee addicts... Death And The Compass - A story of power, pride and corruption. In a totalitarian metropolis future, Erik Lonnrot, a gifted detective investigates a series of strange murders and disappearances that seem to implicate the insane crime lord Red Scarlach. Enlisting the help of Alonso Zunz (Christopher Eccleston), a principled journalist, Lonnrot believes that he has uncovered a labyrinthine occult conspiracy. However, has the investigator's brilliance merely precipitated his own destruction?

Sonny Chiba - Streetfighter, The

Three films. The Streetfighter - Martial arts exploitation film The Street Fighter was originally released in cinemas in 1974 and its astounding success brought Japanese born Sonny Chiba worldwide fame. Shigehiro Ozawa directed Chiba as animal fighting machine Terry Tsurugi who springs a death row inmate from jail disguised as a Buddhist monk. In the violent events that follow there are some truly memorable over the top action sequences Tsurugi punching a man in the face so hard his teeth fall out, the famous shot of a lethal head blow shown in X ray, and Tsurugi saving a woman from rape by ripping out a man's testicles and holding them triumphantly in the air! The Return Of Streetfighter - The incredible Sonny Chiba is back as Tsurugi! And this time he's meaner than ever! Otaguru is a big time mobster with activities that could put him behind bars, so he hires Tsurugi (Sonny Chiba) to hush a couple of captured employees. Last Revenge Of Streetfighter - The last instalment in the trilogy. Contract killer Takuma Tsurugi takes on a variety of disguises in order to recover the formula for making synthetic heroin. As with the other Street Fighter films, there are some unforgettable moments. In one scene, Tsurugi fights a sombrero-wearing villain in a funeral parlour and finishes him off by locking him in the incinerator and burning him to death. The action packed finale has Tsurugi ripping out a man's still beating heart with his bare hands...
