After his father's death in WWII young Salvatore's only consolation is visiting the local cinema where the kindly projectionist shows him the tricks of the trade. Winning Best Foreign Film Oscar in 1989, this is a moving tribute to the decline of the little cinemas of the world. One Man's Vengeance

When a young man kills a gang member in defence of an innocent couple, the gang retaliates by attacking his house and murdering his family. Banished by his uncle, he sets out to find a master to teach him the ancient ways of kung fu so that he can avenge his family's deaths. When he returns he is armed with almost super-human ability, and sets out the find the leader of the gang.

Silver Streak

A somewhat daffy book editor (Wilder) on a rail trip from Los Angeles to Chicago thinks that he sees a murdered man thrown from the train. When he can find no one who will believe him, he starts doing some investigating of his own, and gets involved in a love affair, a murder, is thrown from the train, wanted by the police, and joins forces with a car thief (Pryor) to reboard the train to save his love. But all that accomplishes is to get the killer after him.
