Bonanza - Escape To The Ponderosa/ The Avenger

Two episodes: Escape to the Ponderosa - Ben's brother puts the future of the Ponderosa Ranch in jeopardy whilst Charlie Poke, the family's ranch hand, rounds up the toughest posse on the plain to fight one last battle. The Avenger - Ben and Adam Cartwright are convicted of murder and sentenced to the gallows, but are rescued by a mysterious stranger. The Cartwrights try to find out his background.

Aeroplanes, tanks, battleships, explosions, gunfire, executions, populations in flight, devastated countryside, destroyed villages. All in black and white and in colour. Silent images, four sentences, four pieces of music. Purgatory - Contemporary Sarajevo, martyred like many others. Real and imaginary characters. A visit to Mostar Bridge as it is being reconstructed symbolises the passage from guilt to forgiveness. Paradise - Aa young woman - whom we saw in Purgatory - self-sacrificed, finds peace by the water, on a small beach guarded by US marines.

Steam In The 21st Century - Dean Forest Railway

To make this programme we visited the Dean Forest Railway which winds its way through the picturesque Royal Forest in Gloucester. On visiting the line the best station to start your journey from is the lines HQ at Norchard, from here, leaving from the low level platform you can take a return trip by steam or diesel hauled train through Lydney Town, St. Mary's Halt to Lydney Junction. On returning to Norchard you can then take a further journey from the high level platform by a Diesel Multiple Unit to Whitecroft. Soon this part of the line will be extended to Parkend. If you don't break your journey the two trips should take about ninety minutes. At the DFR there is plenty to see and the surroundings are picturesque and tranquil.
