Sleepy Hollow

In Tim Burton's stylish, creepy retelling of the classic Washington Irving story, SLEEPY HOLLOW, Ichabod Crane (Johnny Depp) is a squeamish, bookish 18th century New York City investigator sent to a small town in lower Westchester county to look into three mysterious decapitations. When the always rational Crane arrives at the little Dutch village, he finds that most of the townsfolk believe the culprit to be the Headless Horseman, the ghost of a monstrous Hessian soldier (Christopher Walken), who seems to be mysteriously tied in to one of the town's most prominent families. Burton's natural instincts for campy humor, combined with the hauntingly gorgeous technical work (Emmanuel Lubezki's cinematography and Danny Elfman's score included), collide to create a work of exhilarating entertainment and poetic storytelling. Miranda Richardson, Casper Van Dien and Christina Ricci help make up an ensemble cast that, combined with the historically accurate village sets and dreamlike magic of the haunted Western Woods--created on the largest sound stage in film history--makes SLEEPY HOLLOW a visually stunning, gripping, and, at times, chilling film.

Shiner

Eddie, an up and coming boxer is magaged by his father, small time criminal Billy Simpson. On his first prizefight the police arrive and Eddie ends up getting killed leaving Billy the one to find out exactly what happened. His rage and paranoia grow and he starts to suspect his closest friends sending him on a murderous rage to gain revenge for his son's death and his own ruined life.

Requiem From The Darkness - Vol. 4

Momosuke, separated from the group, searches for the others when he is suddenly attacked by rebels. Ogin finds him and advises he return to Edo. When she heads in another direction, Momosuke follows her instead. Along the journey, Momosuke comes across a clan that has been cursed by spirits, causing horrible deaths. Mataichi just may have a trick up his sleeve to deal with the atrocities at the castle.

Spaceballs

STAR WARS parody with bits of STAR TREK and PLANET OF THE APES thrown in for good measure. Some great caricatures include Pizza the Hutt, Brooks as tiny Yogurt, Moranis as Dark Helmet and Candy as Barf the space dog. Brooks' usual spray-gun approach to humour is packed with rib-ticklings and knowing winks to make sure you catch all the puns and in-jokes.

Stravinsky - Pulcinella/ Soldat - Rambert Dance Company

Two productions. Puinella - The original version of Pulcinella, commissioned by Diaghilev in 1920, was choreographed by Massine with designs by Picasso. Like the original, Richard Alston's greatly-admired version for Ballet Rambert has a Neapolitan setting and is based on traditional Commedia dell'Arte characters. The sets and costumes for Alston's production are by the contemporary English painter Howard Hodgkin. Soldat - British choreographer, Ashley Page, used the suite from Stravinsky's L'Histoire du Soldat for his ballet, Soldat - the traditional folk tale of the solder and the devil in a battle of wits for the solder's soul. The designer is the Scottish sculptor Bruce McLean who is internationally famous as a performance artist.
