Men They Couldn't Hang, The - The Shooting

The first ever DVD to feature one of the great Folk Rock bands of the last twenty years, The Men They Couldn't Hang. The band formed in 1984 and were soon going down a storm on the Folk circuit, they were eventually signed to Demon Records by Elvis Costello. In this DVD many of the bands key songs are performed, including 'The Green Fields Of France' and 'Iron Masters', which were both Independent Chart top ten hits. There are also eight tracks that have never been previously seen, and were not part of the original video release of the show.

Jack

A warm and funny comedy about a young boy, Jack, who has a rare medical condition which causes him to age at four times the normal rate, making him a child in a man's body. On his first day at school Jack finds difficulty not only fitting into his desk but also with his classmates, who consider him to be rather odd. But after his akward encounter with girls and an hilarious sleepover in a treehouse Jack's exploits with the 5th grade becomes the adventure of his life.

Writer and broadcaster, Tom Weir, travels around Scotland exploring its landscapes, natural history and meeting its people. In each half hour programme Tom delves into social history, physical geography and the life and times of the people in the area, past and present. Born in Glasgow in 1914 Tom Weir came to prominence in the fields of broadcasting, climbing, writing as well as being a noted naturalist. Brother of fireside raconteur Molly, Tom served in the Royal Artillery before making a profession of his writing. He won the Scottish Television Personality of the Year Award in 1978 and wrote a regular column in the Scots Magazine for over fifty years. Featured walks: Collieston & Forvie, The Brass O'Mar, The Lady Of Lawers, An Edinburgh Volcano, Alexander Selkirk, Anstruther and The New Settlers.
