ROBOTS: Even in a world populated entirely by mechanical beings Rodney Copperbottom is considered a genius inventor. Al Pacino is superb as a blind man who decides to have one last weekend of fun before he commits suicide. O'Donnell is the young man sent to chaperone him after running into a spot of bother at his posh school. Pacino's sensitive performance in this bitter-sweet comedy won him his first long awaited Oscar.
