Cirque Du Soleil - Solstrom

Solstrom is a hybrid 13 episode television series that draws inspiration from film, situation comedy, burlesque theatre, circus acts, and Cirque du Soleil's live shows. A child in a sandbox. An architect at a construction site. A high wire shimmering over an Italian piazza. Aliens performing at a cosmic discotheque. All are touched by the solar wind, a magical energy force that transforms everyday life into a playful world blending fantasy with acrobatic performance.

Stigmata

In rural Brazil, the funeral of a beloved priest is marked by a statue of the Virgin Mary weeping blood. In Pittsburgh USA Frankie, an atheist hairdresser, begins to exhibit stigmata (wounds similar to those suffered by Christ on the Cross) after her mother gives her a rosary as a present. At first Father Kiernan, a Vatican investigator, can find no connection between the two events. As Frankie begins to experience visions and possession, he realises that both are symptoms of a centuries old conspiracy.

Sixteen Candles - A teenager spends a lonely sixteenth birthday dreaming of a handsome, unattainable high school senior, fighting off an irritating freshman, and being totally ignored by her family who have forgotten her special day in their preoccupation with her sister's wedding. A humorous slice of adolescent angst from the king of teen comedy, John Hughes. Weird Science - Two frustrated teens use their home computer and a Barbie doll to create the perfect woman, but like Frankenstein's monster, once she's real and in the flesh, there's no stopping the crazy, roller-coaster ride she takes them on.

Franz Liszt - Faust Symphony, A

The composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein (1918-1990) was one of the most notable and popular musicians working in the 20th century. In this live recording, made in the Boston Symphony Hall in 1976 he conducted the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Tanglewood Festival Chorus in Franz Liszt?s ?Faust Symphony? ? a masterpiece of 19th century symphonic music. The work is based on the tragedy by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and comprises three movements: Faust, Gretchen and Mephistopheles. The symphony, which was premiered in Weimar in 1857, is distinguished by one of the most colourful leitmotif families in the orchestral repertoire. In fact, each character in Goethe's play is so vividly depicted that the symphony is almost an opera without words. Leonard Bernstein?s performance on this DVD is exuberant and powerful, and he extracts similar enthusiasm from his Boston Symphony players together they explore the full emotional and musical range of the composition. The audio recording of this performance won the Grand Prix du Disque in 1978.

13 Going On 30

Jenna Rink is 13 years old and frustrated by her parents, ignored by the cool kids at school and invisible to the boy she has a crush on. She has a great plan to try and impress the in-crowd by inviting them to her birthday party, leaving out her best friend, Matt. Unfortunately it goes badly wrong and after being locked in a cupboard (playing 'Seven Minutes in Heaven') and deserted, Jenna makes a wish. She wishes to be grown up and living the life she's always wanted. Her wish comes true and Jenna finds suddenly that she is 30 years old. Gorgeous, successful, cool and popular the only negative being that she has no idea how she got there. She soon finds that what she thought was important in life, isn't, and that her best friend Matt is about to be married to someone else... Can she reach him in time?
