His mission is to run Swansey to ground and prevent, at all costs, the helicopters reaching their homeland. There begins a furious and uncompromising battle of wits between the two men, and a game of cat and mouse that stretches across Europe and the air lanes of Africa...

During a train journey from Switzerland to Sweden, through war-torn Germany, a married couple are intent on tearing each other apart. Their bitterness is not only the result of his love affairs, but also of her inability to conceive, as a result of a previous abortion. Having been cruelly diagnosed as insane by her psychiatrist, a man who tried but failed to seduce her, she is frightened and alone. By chance, she meets a girl she once knew and goes to her flat. It transpires that the girl is a lesbian and Viola once again becomes the focus of an unforseen seduction. Intricate and intense, this powerful psychological drama is based on four short stories by Birgit Tengroth (who also plays Viola in the film) and stands as a true Ingmar Bergman classic. Upon its original release in 1949, the lesbian relationship was cut by censors, but is presented here in an uncut version.

The breathtaking scenery and mixture of architectural styles of the 18th century makes Castle Ward in County Down a must-visit attraction. It is famed as an architectural curiosity of its time, built inside and out in two distinct styles - Classical and Gothic. The house even has two different fa?ades which reflect this difference in taste. The decorative schemes vary according to their intended use. The 'female' spheres of the building such as the drawing room and boudoir tend to be feminine and adventurous in taste and feature the fashionable Gothic look. The 'male' spheres of the hall and dining-room are predominantly conservative and feature a restrained Classical style.
