Starring Michael Gambon as an unsuccessful writer with a terrible skin disease who escapes from his misery into one of his own pulp thrillers, into which his childhood memories keep intruding. Brimstone And Treacle - Sting plays a strange young man who manages to worm his way into the home of a respectable middle aged couple and begins to lust after their catatonic daughter. Casanova - This is the story of the Italian adventurer and libertine, Giovanni Jacopo Casanova. In 1755 he was imprisoned in solitary confinement in a dark and oppressive cell. The story of his life is played out in contrast to his current state with themes of religious and sexual freedom. Pennies From Heaven - A sheet-music salesman during the Depression, seeks happiness by turning the lyrics of the songs he carries in his briefcase into reality. Married to an unresponsive woman, Arthur Parker finds his true life lacking in meaning and hopes for fulfilment through his fantasy life.

Inspired by the epic 1814 Japanese novel Nanso Satomi Hakkenden' by Takizawa Bakin, this movie sees 1980s super-producer Hiroyuki Kadokawa and legendary director Kinji Fukusaku team up for this loud, special effects laden film.
