Bergman Collection, The - After The Rehearsal

Henrik Vogler (Erland Josephson), an aging director in the process of staging a production of August Strindberg's 'A Dream's Play', remains in the theatre alone one night after a rehearsal has taken place to reflect on his life and career. He is subsequently joined by young ingenue Anna (Lena Olin), who seems to have romantic designs on him, and later by Rakel (Ingrid Thulin), a former lover of Henrik's and possibly Anna's mother.

Feast Of July

Bella Ford swears that she will avenge a false lover but in her search she meets a family who bring her happiness and love. All is well until the Feast of July when her past comes back bringing violent and terrible tragedy.

Ichabod Crane is the new schoolteacher at Sleepy Hollow. His strange looks make the local men suspicious, but to the wives and daughters of this hamlet his education and manners are appealing. Ichabod has a high opinion of himself, and decides to woo the beautiful Katrina Van Tassel, daughter of a wealthy farmer, whom everybody assumes will marry handsome blacksmith Brom Bones. The villagers tell Ichabod the tale of the Headless Horseman who it is said, rides out every night searching for his missing head. Ichabod pretends not be scared of ghosts and sets off for Katrina's home in the belief he is to marry. Brom decides to pose as the Headless Horseman to terrify his rival, but another Headless Horseman suddenly appears...
