The port of Antwerp is one of the major sources of railfreight in Europe. Mile upon mile of rail-connected quays and busy container terminals. 185 freight trains a day! This programme examines the plans to increase capacity: at the port, the port approaches and on the route to Germany. Spend a day with an independent freight forwarder at Boom, help Mr Voss unload a rail van of Italian made Honda mopeds and load some Pringle crisps bound for Bayern, and then follow the traffic all the way to Germany via the Mass bridge at Vise. We also follow the route to Luxembourg and watch the freight flows through the stunning Ardennes. At Charleroi we film a new breed of mini container terminal and see how its fits into the European 'Quality net system'. Visit the quays at Antwerp and Zeebrugge, take a ride on a container train and watch the stevedores at work. At Nord yard we film in the control room and on the hump to see how NMBS / SNCB process 3500 wagons a day. This film was made with the assistance of B-Cargo.

Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea - An American naval captain takes scientists below the North Pole icecap in his atomic submarine to try to save the earth from total incineration by an underwater belt of radiation which is burning out of control. The Day The Earth Stood Still - Story about an alien (Michael Rennie) and his 9ft robot, Gort, who arrive on Earth to deliver a warning of impending doom if the inhabitants do not stop fighting.
