Mike (Tony Peck) is a struggling artist, who draws the 'Brenda Starr' comic strip for the papers. When Brenda (Brooke Shields) magically comes to life she realises how unappreciated she is by Mike and leaves the strip. In a desperate attempt to win her back Mike draws himself into the cartoon. In the meantime Brenda, ace reporter for the New York Flash, heads to the Amazon jungle to find a missing scientist and his formula so she can get the story of the century for her paper...
