Defenders Of The Earth Movie - The Prince Of Kro-Tan

Ming's son plans to take over his father's kingdom. He pays a visit to Zorelda, an ugly witch with magical powers. Zorelda complies and gives Fro-Tan three powers: teleportation, telekinesis and disguise. It is through the use of these powers that Kro-Tan disguises himself as a handsome earthling and begins a flirtation with Jedda, Phantom's beautiful redheaded daughter. Getting the Defenders on his side to destroy Ming is not difficult for Kro-Tan, especially with Jedda on his side.

The harsh realities of racism are highlighted in the interplay between black and white as well as the contrast between good and evil and child and adult. It is also a poignant story of teenage love and friendship. Amma Asante won The Carl Foreman Award for Special Achievement By A British Director/Producer Or Writer In Their First Feature Film at the Bafta Awards (R) 2005.
