The daughter of a wealthy couple, Will and Karen Jennings, is abducted and the couple themselves, held hostage. The perpetrator is Joe Hickley (Kevin Bacon), his plan is to extort money from the Jennings family along with other wealthy families. Things begin to go awry as the apparently foolproof plan unravels and events escalate out of control. As the couple become more desperate to get their daughter back alive, the true motive of the orchestrator is uncovered.
